Morterm Limited has lengthy experience in the trans-shipment of lumber between trucks and rail cars and trucks.

Indoor Storage of Wood Products As a designated Lumber Transfer Yard, Morterm is able to receive large volumes of lumber by truck but more often by rail, unload it, store and subsequently reload it to trucks for delivery.

The greatest majority of the lumber originates in Canada and is delivered in the United States - principally in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana.

With a large outdoor storage area, Morterm has the capacity to store large quantities of lumber in magnitudes of up to 30 million foot board measure (FBM).

Material Handling of Lumber The terminal has ample rail line and is served by the Essex Terminal Railway which connects with CN Rail, CP Rail, Norfolk Southern, CSX Transportation and Conrail giving access to the entire Canadian, American and Mexican railway networks.

There is a plentiful supply of trucking in the region and the terminal is adjacent to an expressway that gives quick access to Ontario's 401 highway system as well as to the Ambassador Bridge, the busiest border crossing point between Canada and the United States. The bridge permits easy access to U.S. interstate highways.
